My next item that I would like to tell you about is the concealer that I use on a daily basis, and sometimes twice a day when I workout. You might be surprised to know that one of my favorite concealers is L.A. Girl Pro Concealer which retails for about 2-5 dollars, depending on where you buy it from.
I absolutely and literally love this concealer. So please allow me to tell you of some of its wonderful virtues:
1. The bottle has a brush like applicator, so you can easily apply just a little to a small area for spot coverage. Or if you choose, you can squeeze a little more out, put it on the back of your hand and use your finger to place it where it is needed. I do this on the train every morning, trust me, it isn't hard. Sometimes when I only need a tiny product, I won't squeeze anything new out. I'll just use the remnants of what is left in the brush and that works for me.
2. The consistency of the formula is not to thin and not to thick which is awesome! As a makeup artist, I'm always looking for the next best product. And trust me, I've tried a lot of concealers. Some formulas are too thin and the product barely covers anything, no matter how many layers I put it on. Some products are too thick, so that they do not blend into the skin nicely and would definitely have to be used under foundation. Many cream concealers are like that. This products formula is nicely in the middle. It is a thick liquid concealer that isn't runny and it is very easy to work with.
3. The formula is designed to be buildable. So you can put on just how much you need and blend it into your skin for a very natural finish. Depending on how bad my under eye circles look each morning, I will just put on however many layers I need, making sure to blend the product into the skin surrounding my under eye by gently stippling the product with my ring finger. When I am done, even I can barely tell that my eye has product on. I end up feeling like I woke up with a completely rested under eye area. I've tried some other more expensive concealers where the formula was too opaque and it was completely obvious that I had something on my bare face. Not with L.A. Girl. You can blend it into one spot of the face and leave the rest of the face without makeup and it can actually work and look believable.
4. It doesn't have to be set with powder! L.A. Girl will NOT crease on you. It does not move! Normally I wouldn't recommend this, but because of the particular consistency of this formula, it has enough grip in it and will set on your face. Now if you are planning on applying any type of makeup under your eye, I would recommend a dusting of at least a skin tone colored eyeshadow right on the area where you plan to apply the makeup. But if you are not wearing anything under your eye, you are OK to apply and be done with it.
Now, let me show you the gentle transformation this concealer allows me to have on my undereye area everyday:
