Sometimes you just need a change! Well as some of you all know summer finally decided to show up in Chicago. It is so warm and nice. It is sunny, birds are chirping...that wear sandals every day kind of weather.
So I decided to switch up my look. I changed my hair to color 30 which is kind of a light auburn. I've never worn my hair this light before but I really like it and I feel like it's very me and very complementary if my skin tone. Because really, you shouldn't wear a hair color that isn't complementary. And sometimes the color you were born with isn't always the best. My hair grows in jet black. Yikes! It's way too dark for me.
So I discovered that when I change my hair, it gives me a different palette to work with. And by saying that, I mean that different colors now work on me because my hair color has really changed my look. Ladies, you have to be mindful that a hair color or hair style change causes the makeup you either want to wear or can wear to sometimes be completely different.
My palette is more of a clean slate now so I've found that I can wear slightly bolder colors without too much competition from stronger colors in my hair.
So my new look that I'm doing for the warm weather is a clean face with a bold pastel colored lip. I don't have on a full face of makeup or foundation. I've only evened out my skin where it is necessary in order for me to look polished. I always groom and fill in my eyebrows and I have a very slight almost not there smokey eye going on that is partially hidden by my glasses.
For my lip color, I'm wearing Dollhouse Pink which is a matte lip color sold by Wet and Wild. It's pigmented and of a high enough quality for me to be pleased to use it for everyday wear.
I also matched my nail color to my chosen lipstick of the moment. I do my own no chip manicures at home. I'm wearing After Party Playful by Red Carpet Manicure which is sold at Ulta.
The result? A nice, fun change that has given me a new look and feel for nice change in the weather. So let me challenge you. Try over the next week or so to find a new lip color or switch up your hair color. It will give you a completely different look. Why? Because variety is the spice of life :-)
