Hey all! I wanted to show you all how to put together a simple purple smoky eye. This is my first detailed eyeshadow tutorial. I hope you will find the tips and and techniques that I share to be helpful!
I love switching up my color palette for the fall. Purple is one of the leading colors for this fall season, according to Pantone's fashion color report. I also love fall because it is the best time of year to rock deep jeweled and sultry colors. I've been thinking about adding a new purple eyeshadow to my kit for a little while. So you know I couldn't wait to make a trip to my nearest Inglot counter to pick up a new eyeshadow shade!
Ever heard of Inglot? Well it just happens to be one of the most fabulous brands for eyeshadow on the market...and I'm speaking on behalf of products marketed to professionals as well as products marketed to regular lovers of makeup. Inglot eyeshadow colors are yummy (one of my cousin Njoki's favorite descriptive words), pigmented and cost effective. The best thing about Inglot eyeshadows is that they have true staying power. The picture below is of the location in Macy's on State Street in Chicago.
So...back to my eyeshadow look. The pic below shows the colors that I used. See the palette below the single eyeshadow pans? That's my Kryolan Variety Eyeshadow Compact in V1. What's the name of the purple color in the palette? I do not know. That's how Kryolan rolls sometimes. I just know the shadows are quality and that's good enough with me :) The light color below is Ben Nye Banana. In an eyeshadow? Yup in an eyeshadow. And I love it for a matte highlight color.
Inglot 446 deep purple nc
Mac silver ring (not pictured)
Inglot amc 65 black sparkles
Inglot matte 329 dark brown

Use the Inglot dark brown eyeshadow with an angled eyeliner brush to fill in the brows
Prep the eye area with the Urban Decay Primer Potion
Base the eye area with the MAC Painterly paint pot
Wet an eye shadow brush and pat the Kryolan light purple eyeshadow on the eyelid up to the brow bone. Use a blender brush to blend the color out towards the eyebrow
Blend the Kryolan brown eyeshadow into the Kryolan purple eyeshadow to help erase any hard edges
Blend the Ben Nye banana eyeshadow onto the eyelid right under the eyebrow
Draw the Urban Decay tornado shade in the crease. Blend outward with blender brush.
Draw the Urban Decay Perversion shade in the crease. Blend outward with blender brush.
Blend the Inglot deep purple shade into the crease, towards the inner part of the eye, out towards the eyebrow. Basically, you are blending inward and upward.
Blend the Inglot black sparkles eyeshadow into the deepest part of the crease.
Draw eyeliner with Maybelline eyeliner and fill in any gaps with the Wet and Wild liquid eyeliner
Apply Wispy eyelashes once eyeliner is set. Fix any visible glue with liquid eyeliner
Apply MAC silver ring in the crease
Blend Kryolan purple eyeshadow under the eye, followed by Inglot deep purple eyeshadow.
Line the waterline and right below waterline with Urban Decay Perversion pencil
